1) Horstmann cavalry officer’s saber, etched blade, sharkskin grip missing wire, decorated pommel & hilt. CONDITION: good overall, incorrect 1840 style enlisted scabbard. 2) 1849 Dated Ames Model 1840. CONDITION: very good to fine overall, blade is well marked w/ some original luster, scabbard cleaned bright. 3) Scarce Saurbier, Newark, NJ , distinctive heavy hilt w/ cocked pommel retained by spanner nut. CONDITION: good, gray blade, missing leather & wire wrap, scabbard painted black & gold. 4) Tiffany and Company import 1840 saber w/ iron hilt. CONDITION: good to very good overall, blade retains much original luster, “TIFFANY & CO” stamped on ricasso, hilt bent up at quillon, rib about 80% intact. 5 & 6) 2 Mansfield & Lamb 1860 sabers, 1 dated 1864, the other 1865. CONDITION: both good to very good overall. 7) B. J. Mallard, Clayville, NY 1862 dated Saber. CONDITION: very good overall, complete grip though leather has lost its shine, blade & scabbard show remnants of a flaking hard metal plating. 8) Roby 1863 dated saber, no scabbard. CONDITION: good overall, gray blade grip has no wire. 9-13) 5 Ames cavalry sabers, one 1862 dated is very good to fine overall w/ matching scabbard, the other 4 are average good condition, 3 w/ scabbards.
