Each are approximately 1/2 liter. 1) An exquisite example with painted scene depicting numerous young nude frolicking nymphs swimming. The paneled painting signed in lower right, "Sibl". Mounted with a gold washed metal lid having engraved German inscription and dated "1882". The underside with blue beehive mark. SIZE: 9 1/2" h. CONDITION: very good. 2) With painted panel on frontice of beautiful young lady with basket of flowers framed in gilt and filigree with
gilt highlights over the surface of the stein. Marked on underside with blue beehive mark and marked "Germany". SIZE: 6 3/4" h to the thumb rest. CONDITION: very good. 3) With painted panel on frontice depicting cavalier with young maid in tavern celebrating with gold filigree border. Back side of stein black with polychrome filigree design. Metal lid with gilt wash. Underside marked only with blue beehive mark. SIZE: 9" h to thumb rest. CONDITION: very good. 4) With painted scene on front of three maids in a forest landscape playing music. Framed in elaborate gold filigree. The back of the stein with bands of burgundy and aqua ornamented with filigree gilt. Cast metal handle with satyr, cast metal lid with gilt highlight, bottom marked with blue beehive mark and in lavender script "Bachantinen"?. SIZE: 9 1/4" h. PROVENANCE: From the John Webber Estate of Bangor, Maine. CONDITION: generally very good. Gilt shows wear on handle and on lid. (05-633/JJ). $1,000-2,000.
