This lot contains 4 Japanese Arisaka bayonets, 1 Japanese style side knife, & a Japanese good luck prayer flag. 1) NATIONAL DENKI TYPE 30. This was mfg under Kokura supervision. It is an early type with the flat bird's head pommel, hook quillon, and riveted counter wrapped around wood grips. No scabbard. CONDITION: overall fair-good. Sharpened blade with no remaining finish and some mild patinaed oxidation. Good grips. 2) NATIONAL DENKI TYPE 30. This was made under supervision of Kokura. Blued blade early variation with flat bird head pommel, hooked quillon, and riveted wrap around wooden grips. No scabbard. CONDITION: overall good. Blade has good original blue finish with some pitting and oxidation present. Good grips. 3) JAPANESE TYPE 30 TRAINING BAYONET. The Japanese produced these bayonets for training purposes. They were produced with no makers marking, no edge, hooked quillon, birdshead pommel, & screwed 2 piece wooden grips. Accompanied with a steel scabbard. CONDITION: overall good. Nice bright fullered blade with some minor freckling. Pommel & guard have heavy dark patinaed oxidation. Grips are fair with small cracks. 4) JAPANESE TYPE 30 TRAINING BAYONET. As stated above. This example has a scabbard and leather frog. CONDITION: overall fair. 1/2 of this blade was crudely sharpened later in life. Blade has freckled moderate oxidation. Good grips. Frog shows some crazing and cracking. 5) JAPANESE SIDE KNIFE. This is a later tourist knife that is in poor condition. 6) SIGNED JAPANESE GOOD LUCK MEATBALL FLAG. Silk construction with 2 leather corners. (02-25446/ZAL). NON-GUN. $200-300.
