Cal. 44. NSN. 6 1/2" Overall. 2 1/2" Bbl. w/ maker’s mark on breech w/ Wurflein maker’s mark on breech & retailers mark “T. F. GUION / N.O.” on lock. Thomas F. Guion (1815-1865) had a fancy goods store on St. Charles Avenue for over 25 years. His 1865 obituary states he was a highly esteemed New Orleans merchant. CONDITION: very good overall. Iron patina, pitting at breech. Lock markings are very good. Hand worn patina to wood. Mechanically functional w/ well defined rifled bore. PROVENANCE: Collection of John Montague. (01-20735/JS).
