Cal. 22 LR. S# 4032. Bbl. 23". These training rifles were designed to approximate the weight sight picture & balance of the US M1 Garand rifle. Manufactured in the late WWII era. These rifles were used for training by the United States Marine Corp. Receiver is fitted w/ the original Redfield aperture rear sight. The slide is graduated to 60 points & the sight is equipped w/ Target type knobs. Blade front sight w/ protective ears. Receiver is marked on top "MOD. 65-H.&R. REISING 22CAL / HARRINGTON AND RICHARDSON CO. / WORCESTER, MASS. U.S.A.". Bbl. marked on left side "MFG. BY HARRINGTON AND RICHARDSON ARMS CO. / WORCESTER, MASS. U.S.A. / 22 LONG RIFLE ONLY". Bbl. is marked on top over chamber w/ "D". Receiver has been drilled on top for scope mount & is equipped on the right side w/ a sliding bolt hold-open device. Walnut stock. Forend is slotted for operating handle. Flat steel buttplate. Brown leather military style sling. MAGS: 1 detachable 10 rd. Magazine is marked "H&R ARMS CO." & has indicating holes for 8 and 10 rds. CONDITION: stock has moderately worn original finish w/ numerous handling marks throughout. Metal has a grey-green Parkerizing w/ light wear & notable scratch on the right front of the receiver.
