Cal. 10 Bore (.775"). S# 3293. Bbls. 41 1/2" of twist steel w/ Birmingham proofs having dbl. platinum bands at breech end. Rib marked "NEW YORK". Back action locks marked "H. T. Cooper". "American Gunsmith" by Frank Sellers has the following listing "COOPER, HENRY T., New York, New York, 1841d-1852d. Successor to B. & J. Cooper. As H. T. & A. Cooper 1852. Agent for Bacon in 1847. Percussion guns.". Locks, hammers, top tang & breech end of bbl. have vine type foliate scroll engraving. Straight grip half length stock of English walnut held by 2 bolts w/ German silver escutcheons. Additional German silver fittings consist of engraved nose cap, engraved finger curl trigger guard, shotgun butt w/ engraved peak & name plate in toeline. Checkered wrist. LOP: 14 5/8". Replacement hardwood ramrod w/ brass tipped held by 2 iron pipes. Weight: 14 lbs., 10 oz. CONDITION: bbl. finish is fading to a light brown patina having scattered spots of pitting & showing good twist pattern. Stock shows numerous dents & handling marks. Sound locks. Modern replacement nipples. Bores shows lightly darkened appearance w/ spots of very light pitting. (01-18084/DS). ANTIQUE. $1,200-1,800.
