Cal. 16 Ga. / 9.3x72R, 2 1/2". S# 32183. Bbl. 27 1/2". Bbls. have partial maker’s name on full length top rib partially obscured by later installation of scope bases. Sights are flip up rear & silver bead front. Pre WWI German nitro proofs are on bbl. flats. Rnd. bodied under lever action fitted w/ peninsula back spring locks having serpentine hammers, has rifle selection lever on top tang. Action & locks engraved w/ scrolling acanthus surrounding game scenes w/ walking stag on left, similar roebuck on right. 3 Quail(?) on left lockplate & a scampering hare on right. Relatively plain European walnut sunburst horn capped pistol grip buttstock measures 13 7/8" over Horn "FN" buttplate & features right hand cheekpiece checkered grip & cartridge trap on toeline. Matching splinter forend has Deeley release. MEASUREMENTS: bore diameter: left .672, right .671. Bore Restrictions: left .036 Full, right .022 Mod. Wall Thickness: left .026, right .028. DAH: 2 3/4". DAC: 1 1/2"+. WEIGHT: w/ out scope 6 lbs. 15 oz. Drilling is equipped w/ Zeiss Zielvier scope w/ 3 post reticle in soldered on rings (rear w/ windage). CONDITION: fair to good. Metal parts mostly gray patina w/ traces of old blue on bbls. Stocks w/ old oil finish partially renewed w/ many marks & dings. Checkering is considerably worn. Buttplate is newer. Bores are pitted throughout. Rifle bore dark in grooves, but strong rifling. Left hammer is replaced. Locks operate. Front trigger will not set. Scope adapted to this gun has marks on exterior. Optically a bit cloudy, does not fit well. (21-2729/MGM). CURIO. $500-1,000.
