MUSKET. Cal. 72. NSN. 2nd Type Musket mfg. 1826 shows outline of bolster percussion conversion, then an enlarged touchhole & replacement pan showing reconversion back to flint. 1828 Dated smoothbore 42" bbl. w/ bayonet lug. Harpers Ferry 1828 dated lock w/ replacement upper jaw of hammer & brass pan. 3 Band walnut musket stock with hand carved "JMK" on left side buttstock. Trumpet tipped ramrod. CONDITION: metal has dark patina appearance mixed with varnish showing heavy pitting near muzzle. Wood has worn appearance with numerous dings, sm. cracks & chips. Dark bore. Appears mechanically fine. (01-28962/MD). ANTIQUE. $1,000-1,500.
