HIGH POWER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH HOLSTER & SPARE MAGAZINE. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 3T9086. Bbl. 4 5/8". No. 2 Mk.I* High Power semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Inglis during World War II. The No. 2 was a simplified variation of the Mk.I* High Power, eliminating the frame slot and tangent rear sight. This example is marked "MK. I*" above "BROWNING-F.N. 9MM.H.P." and "INGLIS, CANADA" on the left side of the slide. Right side of the frame, slide, and bbl. exhibit Canadian proofing. Metal components exhibit a phosphate finish overall, save for on the bbl., which is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered black synthetic grips, featuring a lanyard stud and ring on the left side, with a Canadian maple leaf decal present on the front strap. Dovetailed blade front sight with No. 2 pattern fixed square notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide, and bbl., with S#s being appropriately in-the-white. MAGS: 2 13-rd. mags., marked "JI" on the mag. bodies and floorplates. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: original khaki canvas holster, marked with Canadian proofing and "Z.L. & T. LTD 194" on the interior. Holster contains a spare mag. and cleaning rod. CONDITION: metal components retain bountiful amounts of their original arsenal phosphate finish, showing some spots of light edge wear, as well as some superficial handling marks overall. Brilliant mirror bore, retaining sharp and well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show some superficial marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. Decal on front grip strap exhibits flaking, but otherwise presents nicely. Holster is very good, showing some age related discoloration and light wear. An honest and high condition example of a Canadian World War II Inglis No. 2 Mk.I* High Power pistol. (25-4555/MLW). CURIO. $1,500-2,250.
