SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 6798b. Bbl. 4 7/8". P.38 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Walther in 1944. The left side of the slide is marked "P.38", followed by the S#, as well as Walther's mfg. code and the 2-digit year of mfg. "ac 44", with Walther Eagle/359 acceptance proofs and an eagle firing proof marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a salt blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece grooved brown pressed resin grips. Dovetailed blade front sight, with U-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide, bbl., and locking block. MAGS: 1 8-rd. CONDITION: very good, with metal components retaining the majority of their original arsenal salt blue finish, exhibiting some spots of light to mild wear, some superficial handling marks, as well as some spots of light surface oxidation overall. Front grip exhibits thinning through to gray patina. Bright bore, exhibiting mild pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips are very good, showing some superficial marks from handling and storage. (25-492/MLW). CURIO. $700-1,000.
