SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH STOCK & DISPLAY CASE. Cal. 7.63mm. S# 916056. Bbl. 5 5/8". C96 Model 1930 Commercial semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Mauser. The top of the faceted chamber is marked "WAFFENFABRIK/ MAUSER/ OBERNDORF A/N", with a double crowned "U" commercial proof (also present on the top of the bolt) marked on the left quarter flat. Top of the bbl. extension is marked with the S#, just behind the rear sight. Left side of the frame is marked with the large pattern Mauser banner logo, with Mauser's mfg. information marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a salt blue finish overall, save for on the bolt, which is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece grooved wood grips. Fixed blade front sight, with tangent V-notch rear sight, graduated 50-1000. Stepped bbl., with 2-lug firing pin, and lanyard ring on butt. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, floorplate, lock frame, as well as the bbl. / bbl. extension. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: display case featuring a canvas exterior, with brass fittings and leather tabs on edges. Interior of case features a red velvet lining and contains a Mauser banner marked wood stock, and 70-rds. of "G.F.L." head stamped 7.63mm Mauser ammunition. CONDITION: very good to excellent, with metal components retaining the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some areas of light to mild wear (primarily on edges and on underside of the bbl.), with some scattered superficial handling marks present overall. Grip straps exhibit moderate wear and thinning that shows through to gray patina. In-the-white parts show some scattered spots of light age related discoloration. Mirror bore, exhibiting some light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips are very good, showing some superficial marks and minor impressions. Stock shows numerous scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. Case is very good overall. A very nice, high condition example of a Mauser C96 1930 Commercial. (25-240/MLW). CURIO. $3,500-5,000.
