MODEL 1934 SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 583116. Bbl. 3 3/8". Model 1934 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Mauser and subsequently issued by the German Kriegsmarine. The left side of the slide is marked with the S# within a milled panel, followed by Mauser's mfg. information, with "CAL. 7 , 65 D.R.P.u.A.P." marked on the right. Top of the slide is marked with a German Eagle/N commercial nitro proof behind the rear sight, which is repeated on the right side of the forward bbl. lug. Sideplate is marked with the Mauser banner logo, followed by a pantograph engraved Eagle/M Kriegsmarine property marking. Front grip strap is pantograph engraved with a Nordsee "N" above "6268". Pantographed markings appear to have been applied at a later time. Metal components exhibit a salt blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with a 1-piece flat crosshatched wrap around grip, retained by 2 grip screws with brass washers. Half-moon blade front sight, with dovetailed U-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, sideplate, slide, and bbl. MAGS: 1 unmarked 7-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, showing light to mild edge wear, a few areas of light to mild wear and thinning, some superficial handling marks, as well as some scattered spots of light freckling overall. Front grip strap shows mild wear and thinning with consistent light surface oxidation. Near mirror bore, exhibiting a few spots of very light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grip shows smoothing, as well as some scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. An attractive example of a desirable Kriegsmarine marked Mauser Model 1934 pistol. (25-3493/MLW). CURIO. $1,500-2,250.
