SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH MATCHING FACTORY BOX. Cal. 22 LR. S# 131530P. Bbl. 3 13/16". Model PP semi-automatic pistol chambered in .22 LR mfg. by Walther, circa. 1938. The left side of the slide is marked with the Walther banner logo, followed by Walther's address, as well as the model and cal. designations. Right side of frame (on chamber), slide, and bbl. exhibit a Crown/N commercial nitro proof. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the chamber area of the frame, which is polished in-the-white. Safety lever / decocker is nitre blued. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Walther banner checkered black synthetic grips. Slide features a matte rib, with an integral blade front sight (rear face painted yellow) and dovetailed U-notch rear sight. Slide appropriately matches the frame via "530" which is etched on the interior, parallel to the ejection port. MAGS: 1 10-rd. with black synthetic grip extension. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: matching Walther wood grain cardboard box containing a small tin box embossed with the Walther banner logo, Walther factory, and Walther's mfg. information, containing an oil bottle and rag. CONDITION: near excellent, with metal components retaining bountiful amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting light edge wear and some light superficial handling marks overall. Rear grip strap shows a small spot of wear that has faded to gray patina. Brilliant mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics, including the safety / decocker. Grips show some smoothing and some white age related discoloration, but otherwise present nicely. Box shows general overall wear, with taped repairs to the lid. Top flat of box body no longer retains its wood grain exterior. An especially attractive Pre-War Walther Model PP chambered in .22 LR, complete with its matching factory box. (25-4242/MLW). CURIO. $2,000-3,000.
