SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH ORIGINAL HOLSTER. Cal. 8mm Steyr. S# 28978. Bbl. 5". Roth-Steyr Model 1907 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Steyr. Top of the bbl. is marked "WAFFENFABRIK STEYR". Rear of frame is marked "W-n (AUSTRIAN EAGLE) 10", indicating Austrian military acceptance in 1910. Standard Austrian "K" inspection proofs are present overall. The balance of metal components exhibit a blue finish, with the bbl., bolt, and trigger being polished in-the-white. Extractor, grip screws, and protected internal areas of bolt stop exhibit a strawed finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece grooved wood grips. Right grip's disc is unit marked "3.FK/ 170", possibly indicating issue to the 3rd Feldkanonenregiment (Field Artillery Regiment). Standard dovetailed blade front sight, with integral V-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, bbl. bushing, sideplate (interior), as well as the internal mag. assembly (bottom of base). UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: original Austrian brown leather holster with single wide riveted belt loop on rear. and integral ammunition / stripper clip pouch. Exterior of closure flap is marked with a handwritten "KoeHLer", with traces of illegible ink stampings present on the interior. CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting some light to mild edge wear, scattered freckling, and some scattered spots of light to mild pitting overall. Grip straps show scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation. In-the-white parts show some age related discoloration, with some light pitting present on the bolt assembly. Very bright bore, exhibiting consistent light pitting and mild pitting towards the breech, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Action functions appropriately when cycled by hand. Grips show some minor marks from handling and storage. Holster remains malleable, showing mild general wear, with some superficial handling marks and scattered spots of darker discoloration. A high condition and exceptionally attractive example of an Austrian military accepted and unit marked Roth-Steyr Model 1907, complete with an original holster. (25-3522/MLW). CURIO. $2,000-3,000.
