LIGHTWEIGHT LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 33 WCF. S# 122201. Bbl. 24" tapered round. Ramp mounted ivory bead combination front sight has ring removed. Semi Buckhorn elevator adjustable rear sight and combination tang sight. 1/2 Length tubular mag. Blue finish with case colored hammer and lever. Forearm and hard rubber capped pistol grip stock of fancy walnut have style “H” hand checkering and hard rubber shotgun buttplate. Left side of stock has oval silver plate marked “F. W. Briggs/Pittsfield/Maine”. Left inside of lower tang marked “42, lazy 6, 459” followed by “XX” wood grain marking. Mainspring retainer stamped “FR”. Top tang channel of stock has matching “459” assembly number. Mfg in 1900. CONDITION: bbl. and mag tube retain over 97% original blue showing slight muzzle wear. Action retains over 80% blue showing edge wear with some fading from carry use. Hammer and lever retain 90% lightly faded case colors. Wood has very good original finish showing scattered scratches and marks. Sound mechanics. Bore retains sound rifling showing spots of fouling. (22–5616/DS). CURIO. $12,500–17,500.
