ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 22 Hornet. S# 22161A. Bbl. 24 ¼". Model 43 bolt action rifle chambered in .22 Hornet mfg. by Winchester between 1949-1957. Left side of the bbl. is marked with Winchester's mfg. information, followed by the Winchester trademark logo, as well as the model and cal. Designations. Right side of the receiver is marked with the S#. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bolt body, which is polished in-the-white. Plain wood pistol grip buttstock, with flat checkered steel buttplate. Ramped, hooded, and aluminum beaded blade front sight. Rear sight dovetailed is fitted with a slot blank. Receiver is mounted with a Weaver 1" side rail, with a Weaver K4 60-B scope. MAGS: 1 5-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain bountiful amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting a few scattered superficial handling marks and small spots of light surface oxidation overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Stock is very good to excellent, with a few superficial marks from handling and storage. Scope retains a clear and sharp optic. A very nice and attractive example of a Winchester Model 43 chambered in .22 Hornet. PROVENANCE: Estate of Russell Dickerman. (25-1819/MLW). CURIO. $500-800.
