COMMEMORATIVE LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 30-30. S# WC44284. Bbl. 26". Model 94 Buffalo Bill commemorative lever action rifle mfg. by Winchester circa. 1968. Left quarter flat of the octagonal bbl. is marked with the Winchester trademark logo and "30-30", with "Buffalo Bill Commemorative" in gold highlighted script characters marked on the right. Sides of the receiver feature light scrollwork, with "Buffalo Bill" engraved on the left and what appear to be a small stylized "TE" engraved on the right. Upper receiver tang is engraved "W.F. Cody Chief of Scouts" in gold highlighted script characters. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, with the forearm nose cap, trigger, saddle ring, hammer, and crescent buttplate exhibiting a plated finish. Plain wood forearm and straight grip buttstock. Right side of buttstock is inlaid with a Buffalo Bill commemorative coin. Dovetailed blade front sight with U-notch elevator rear sight. CONDITION: very good to excellent, with metal components retaining the vast majority of their original factory finishes, showing some spots of light edge wear and a few superficial handling marks overall. Underside of mag. tube exhibits some wear to gray patina and some scratches, seemingly from removal and reinstallation. Plated parts exhibit areas with a cloudy appearance. Mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows a few scattered marks and impressions, but otherwise remains sound and presents nicely. (25-4032/MLW). CURIO. $500-800.
