SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH MATCHING KNIGHTS ARMAMENT OHG SILENCER & EAGLE INDUSTRIES SOFT CASE. Cal. 45 ACP. S# 23-008122 (Both). Bbl. 5 11/16". Mark 23 semi-automatic pistol mfg. in Germany by Heckler & Koch and imported by Heckler & Koch Inc. in 2000. The left side of the slide is marked "HK MARK 23 Cal. .45 Auto" above a German Eagle/N commercial nitro proof, "AA" (00) date code, an Ulm proof house antler, and the S#. Right side of the frame is marked with HK's mfg. information, with HK Inc.'s importer information marked on the underside. Slide and bbl. exhibit a black enamel type finish overall. Black polymer frame features textured grip panels on either side of the grip, checkered panels on the front and rear grip straps, a decocking lever, as well as an ambidextrous mag. release and safety lever. Dovetailed white dot blade front sight with dovetailed and screw fastened 2-dot square notch rear sight. Pistol is accompanied by its original matching S# phosphate finished Knight's Armament Co. OHG (Offensive Handgun) silencer, which is marked "PART NO. 1S002/94368/ MFR- 1S002 SER. NO. 23-008122/ NSN: 1005-01-435-1917/ U.S.A." above KAC's mfg. information, as well as the model and cal. designations. This kit was offered as a commercial iteration of the OHWS (Offensive Handgun Weapons System), which intended to standardize a sidearm for the U.S. Special Operations Command, utilizing the HK MK23, MOD 0 pistol and KAC OHG silencer. MAGS: x15 10-rd. mags., x2 of which being LEO marked. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: original gray nylon Eagle Industries soft case, with matching S# sticker and label on exterior of lid. Interior of case contains original factory paperwork, as well as provisions for the aforementioned mags., the Mark 23 pistol, and the OHG silencer. CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their original factory black enamel type finish, exhibiting a few superficial handling marks on the right side of the slide, with some light wear present on the bbl. from cycling of the action. Mirror bore, retaining well defined polygonal rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics, to include the decocking lever. Frame is very good to excellent overall. OHG silencer retains the vast majority of its original factory phosphate finish, exhibiting some light superficial handling marks overall, with minimal carbon build up, suggesting little use. Case shows some light exterior wear, but otherwise remains sound. Produced in limited numbers during the late 1990s to early 2000s, these matching S# Mark 23 / OHG kits are quite rare and are frequently sought after within the collecting community.
