SHOTGUN WITH ORIGINAL TRAP MODIFIED FOREND. Cal. 410, 3" chamber. S# 236229. According to page 258 of "The Parker Story" only 463 VH grade Parkers were manufactured in 410 with 26" Vulcan steel bbls. A mere 163 VH grade Parker shotguns in any gauge were produced with the trap modified forearm. Additionally, found on the same page, single triggers appear on a scant 3% of the entire V Grade production, making this an exceptionally rare Parker. Bbls. 26" of Vulcan steel w/ fixed full & full chokes. Front bead. Case colored 000 frame boxlock action. Features include a Parker single selective trigger & automatic ejectors. Action has borderline engraving. Original trap style beavertail forearm & straight grip walnut stock w/ hand checkering. DAH: 1 15/16". DAC: 1 3/8". LOP: shortened to 14" over reattached dog's head hard rubber buttplate. Stock has neutral cast. WEIGHT: 5 lbs, 13 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: photo-copy of a letter from the Parker Gun Collector's Association, Inc. detailing the following information "Parker shotgun, serial number 236229, was manufactured in 1933. According to Parker Bros. Stock Book No. 82, it was a VHE hammerless .410 on a size 000 frame and a single trigger. It featured Vulcan steel barrels with a length of 26 inches and 2 15/16" chambers. Its stock configuration was a straight grip with a trap modified for-end. According to Parker Bros Stock Book No. 82, its specifications were: Length of Pull: 14 1/2", Drop at Heel: 2", Drop at Comb: 1 3/8", Weight: 5 pounds. 13 ounces. The price listed in the 1933 price list for a VHE grade with single trigger was S126.50 plus $14.85 for a trap modified for-end". CONDITION: bbls. have 95% original blue. Action has over 90% original case colors w/ slight fading in carry areas. Trigger guard has fading blue w/ touch up on tang. Stock finish is touched up around reattached buttplate & shows scattered scratches & marks. Very good bright bores. Sound mechanical operation. (24-934). CURIO. $40,000-60,000.
