1849 POCKET REVOLVER LIKE CZAR NICHOLAS PRESENTATIONS. Cal. 31. S# 63305. This gun is a faithful elaborate gold inset facsimile made from a Colt 2nd Generation black powder revolver circa 1965. As can be seen in photographs it is quite elaborate. The original 6" bbl. pocket model is copied from in the Hermitage Museum & was presented by Col. Colt to Czar Nicholas in 1856. It is in truly amazing condition retaining virtually all its original finish & gold inlay. Horatio Q. Acevedo (1924-2010) & his work is prominently shown on pages 706-719 of The Colt Engraving Book Volume Two by R.L. Wilson. No comparable examples have sold publicly, though a couple have been sold as original over the years. Well known Colt collector & comedian Buddy Hackett commissioned several “clones” of Colt’s finest work like this in the 1970s. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: custom wood & metal display stand.
