YEARS LEADING UP TO THE WAR WITH MANY PHOTOS OF GERMAN LEADERS AND HISTORIC EVENTS. INCLUDING OFFICIAL PRESS PHOTOS.
This gargantuan photographic archive includes hundreds of photographs from news agencies, the propaganda ministry, individuals & many more sources. The photographs depict all aspects of the rise of fascism in post WWI Germany. There are scores of well known German leaders depicted in nearly all of the photographs. Views include, but are certainly not limited to, portraits of Hitler, meetings with Mussolini, meetings with Rommel, political meetings, photos with the Kaiser, rallies, diplomatic meetings & receptions, Joseph Stalin signing the non aggression pact, stamped “SECRET” on the reverse, Ernst Rohm, various SA & SS officers, portraits of Goring with views of him in meetings & at ceremonies, award ceremonies, speeches, portraits of Hess, marches & parades, armaments, battle scenes, buildings, famous personalities, the Reichstag, and many, many more intensely historic moments in the years leading up & including WWII. There is a wonderful & important group of personal photographs of the German Army in Bosnia & Herzegovina, including battle scenes, war damage, and civilian views. This archive also includes a color and black & white tipped in photo book titled “DEUTSCHLAND ERWACHT”, a personal photo book that appears to have belonged to a member of the NSKK containing numerous photographs pertaining to the corps and motorcycles, a large format paperback book titled “DIE ADOLF HITLER = SCHULE”, a black & white tipped in photo book titled “ADOLF HITLER BILDER AUS DEM LEBEN DES FUHRERS”, and a black & white tipped in photo book titled “DAS NEUE REICH”. Interestingly, the archive contains a binder full of letters & propaganda from the American Nazi Party. The binder includes personal letters from Lincoln Rockwell, Storm Troopers manuals, and copies of the National Socialists bulletin. CONDITION: most of the photos remain as crisp & sharp as the day they were taken. The photo books show light to moderate wear, but the photos themselves are clear. The enormity & completeness of the collection is difficult to convey, but it would be hard to imagine a more historic & important group of photographs. (02-17985/BF). $10,000-25,000.
