PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# L23363. Bbl. 4 5/8". Copy of an FN High Power semi-automatic pistol mfg. in Hungary. The left side of the slide is marked with an erroneous "FABRIQJE NATIONALE HERSTAL BELGIQUE/ BROWNING'S PATENT DEPOSE". Underside of the trigger guard exhibits a Century Arms' import mark. Right side of the forward trigger guard and bbl. exhibit spurious Belgian proofs. Metal components exhibit a phosphate finish overall, save for on the 2-piece bbl., which is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips, which feature red paint on the interior of the panels, and also features a blued lanyard ring on the left side. Slide features an external extractor, with a fixed half-moon blade front sight, and dovetailed U-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame (front grip strap), slide, and bbl. (minus "L" prefix). MAGS: 1 blued 13-rd., with blued split tail floorplate, stamped with an upside down "U" proof on the spine. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory phosphate finish, exhibiting some light wear and thinning (primarily on edges), with scattered superficial handling marks present overall. Brilliant mirror bore, exhibiting some areas of grease, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show some smoothing, as well as scattered marks and minor impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. PROVENANCE: The Estate Collection of Charles Wagner. (25-401/MLW). CURIO. $600-1,000.
