Cal. 12 Ga. S# AA08792. Bbl. 21.5". Mfg. 1986. There may not be another shotgun as recognizable as the Franchi S.P.A.S.12 (Sporting Purpose Automatic Shotgun, 12 ga.) thanks to its prominent roles in Hollywood blockbusters, and later, several places in the video game industry. It played a leading role in "Terminator" in 1984 & "Jurassic Park" in 1993, as well as several other movies & television shows. It has been featured in such hit video games as "Modern Warfare", & "Half-Life". It is a gas operated, self loading shotgun that allows the operator to select pump operation when reduced power loads are desired. Its most recognizable features are a top folding stock, which includes an adjustable hook for use as a carry handle, or for 1-hand shooting, and its wide rectangular heat shield. The receiver & furniture are a dark black finish while the barrel, stock & heat shield are a matte gray parkerized finish. This example was manufactured in 1986. The front sight is an exposed blade. The rear peep sight resembles a key hole, utilizing the large round portion to aim shot loads, while using the lower notch for aiming slugs. The tubular magazine below the barrel holds 8 rounds. The top heat shield is marked "A" & "M" to coincide w/ the selected mode of operation, lining up w/ the correct letter for Automatic or Manual. Operation is selected by depressing a button below the front handguard while sliding the handguard forward or rearward. Left side mounted tan canvas sling. It should be noted that this example is in totally original condition, having never been through the recall on the rotating safety lever. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Original owners manual. CONDITION: All aspects indicate very little use. No outward blemishing aside from some finish thinning in areas of mechanical intervention, such as where handguard rubs on heat shield, which happens almost immediately. Note from owner states. that a small internal rubber buffer, listed as part # 6 "Receiver Shock" had dried out from sitting and should be replaced prior to use. Bright bore. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. (23-2519/JZ). MODERN. $3,000-5,000.
