Cal. 450/455. S# 124681. Bbl. 6". Ramped bead front sight. Drift-adjustable U-notch rear sight. Matching numbers on bbl. and cyl. MK6-style Webley revolver retailed by the famous Wilkinson firm. Bottom of the trigger guard is marked "1938," likely an inventory number. Right side of the frame has a Webley winged bullet logo. Top of the bbl. is marked "Wilkinson Pall Mall. London S.W.". The left side of the trop strap is marked "WILKINSON-WEBLEY 05." High-polish blue finish. The backstrap has a British officer inscription that reads "P.G. DAVIDSON. 12TH LANCERS." The 12th Lancers were a British cavalry unit that took part in several well-known WWI battles, including Mons, First Ypres, Neuve Chapelle, Second Ypres, and the 1918 Offensives. Checkered hardwood grips. The right grip panel has a silver oval disc. The bottom of the grip frame has a lanyard ring. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: brown leather period holster. CONDITION: bottom of the left grip panel shows a 1/3" crack; the top of the right panel has a repaired chip; the grips otherwise show chipped checkering, dings, and handling wear. Metal retains 50% of its original blue with some pitting, scattered fading to gray, oxidation, and edge wear. Good bore with scattered oxidation but strong rifling.
