Cal. 5.56/.223 S# GS-2095317. Bbl. 16". Conceived following the 1967 war when Israel was looking for a lighter alternative to the FAL rifle. It was based heavily on the AK-47 design, which the Arab armies had utilized and had been determined to have performed well. It was expanded upon by adding other features such as a folding bipod to some models to increase stability and provide reasonable consistency under automatic fire, which also doubles as a wire cutter. A right side folding shoulder stock was utilized to be more useful to the mechanized units which required shorter platforms to fit inside vehicles. This particular rifle was manufactured by Israeli Military Industries & imported by Springfirld Armory of Geneseo, IL. It has a threaded barrel, terminated w/ the proper factory flash hider. Hooded post front sight w/ flip up night sight. Protected dual aperture rear sight w/ flip up night sight. Ambidextrous safety / selector & magazine release. Scope mount slot on milled receiver. Left side sling swivels, currently sporting black nylon sling. Right side folding stock. Black plastic forend. MAGS: 1 steel 30 rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Factory box. CONDITION: Finish coverage complete & consistent w/ little sign of use aside from a areas of mechanical intervention. Bright bore w/ strong rifling. Night sights no longer illuminate. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. PROVENANCE: Lifelong Collection of Terrence McCarty. (24-555/JZ). MODERN. $2,500-4,500.
