LP.08 Luger semi-automatic pistol mfg. at the Erfurt arsenal during their first year of LP.08 production. The bbl. extension is marked "1914" over the top of the chamber, with Erfurt arsenal inspector proofs marked on the right. Erfurt proofs on right side of bbl. extension and front of frame are notably sharper than other arsenal markings. Toggle is marked with a "(CROWN)/ ERFURT". Small Erfurt arsenal proofs are present overall. Metal components exhibit a nicely reapplied blue finish, with some small parts exhibiting a reheated straw or nitre blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece replacement checkered wood grips. Fine tune blade front sight, with adj. V-notch rear sight, graduated 1-8. All serialized parts are matching, with some parts appearing to have been renumbered to match at one time. MAGS: 1 non-matching 8-rd., with Erfurt proof on wood plug. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: a quality reproduction of the 1913 experimental LP.08 Luger stock/holster. Mating face of body and lid are marked "CAW". CONDITION: metal components retain bountiful amounts of their professionally reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some light edge wear, with scattered spots of light pitting beneath the bluing overall. Strawed parts show some spots of light wear, but are otherwise very good overall. Bore exhibits consistent mild to moderate pitting, while retaining worn rifling throughout. Proper mechanical function. Grips show some smoothing, superficial handling marks, and spots of flattening, but otherwise present nicely. Wood plug on mag. exhibits a repaired split. 1913 stock/holster exhibits a few superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. (25-3484/MLW).
