An exquisitely artistically produced Imperial German WWI era Hunting Association dagger or cutlass measuring 21 3/4" overall with a plain15 7/8" unmarked blade. Polished steel hilt with a down turned scallop shell guard and hooves at the quillons. Superb polished steel lion head pommel with a horn grip. Polished steel mounted leather scabbard with acorn frog stud. CONDITION: blade has some very minor discoloration. Hilt shows light wear and the steel has a wonderful dark patina. The scabbard mounts share the same patina and the leather body has 40% finish loss. (02-24916/BF). NON-GUN. $500-750.
