NAMBU SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 8mm Nambu. S# 47581. Bbl. 3 3/4". Type 94 Nambu semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Chuo Kogyo under Nagoya supervision in January of 1944. Left side of the frame is marked with Kanji characters denoting the model designation, as well as the fire and safe positions, with the Showa date code "19.1" above the Nagoya / Chuo Kogyo arsenal insignias, and the S# marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bbl., which is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered black synthetic grips. Standard fixed blade front sight and square frame notched rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the frame, slide, bolt, and crossbolt. Locking block is mismatched via "71". Firing pin has been renumbered to match at one time. MAGS: x1 matching 6-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original blue finish, exhibiting some patches and areas of wear and thinning that are fading to gray patina, as well as scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation overall. Near mirror bore, exhibiting some scattered spots of light pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show scattered superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sound. (26-2420/MLW). CURIO. $500-750.
