TYPE 94 SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 8mm Nambu. S# 58720. Bbl. 3 3/4". Type 94 Nambu semi-automatic pistol mfg. at the Chuo Kogyo arsenal under Nagoya supervision in 1944. Left side of the frame is marked with Kanji characters denoting the model designation, with the Showa date code "19.8" (August of 1944), Chuo Kogyo arsenal insignia, and the S# marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece smooth wood grips, which are glued to the frame. Standard blade front sight, with square notch rear sight. Nearly all numbers are matching and include the frame, locking block, bbl., slide, as well as the bolt. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina, as well as some scattered spots of oxidation overall. Very bright bore, exhibiting some light pitting and a couple of spots of dark pitting while retaining good rifling throughout. Grips exhibit some scattered marks and minor impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (24-5983/MLW). CURIO. $300-500.
