SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 8mm Nambu. S# 25754. Bbl. 4 5/8". Type 14 Nambu semi-automatic pistol mfg. at the Kokubunji arsenal under Nagoya supervision in 1937. Left side of the frame is marked with Kanji characters denoting the model designation, with the Nagoya Kokubunji arsenal insignia, followed by the S# above the Showa date code "12.1" marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a reapplied chrome-plated finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece grooved wood grips. Most numbers are matching and include the frame, trigger guard, trigger, mag. safety, mag. release button, bbl./bbl. extension, bolt, as well as the locking block. Firing pin extension, cocking knob, and mag. (#732) are mismatched. Grips are unnumbered. Firing pin is a contemporary replacement. MAGS: one 8-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their reapplied chrome-plated finish, exhibiting some losses to the original factory markings, with areas of pitting present beneath the finish. Dark pitted bore, retaining fair rifling throughout. Grips exhibit scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (24-6000/MLW). CURIO. $200-300.
