Cal. 38 Rimless. S# 36986. Bbl. 6". Colt made just over 18,000 Model 1902 Military pistols between 1902-1928. This example, made in 1914 is a standard production gun, with a fixed front sight and drift adj. rear sight. Left side of slide with 2-line address referencing patents, company, and location in Hartford, CT. Rampant Colt behind serrations. Right side of slide is marked "AUTOMATIC COLT" surmounting the caliber. S# on left side of frame. Spur hammer. This was the first Colt pistol to have an independent slide release. Hard rubber panels molded with the "COLT" name and Rampant Colt logo within a checkered bordered field. Swiveling lanyard ring mounted to left frame. Bottom mag. release with 2-tone mag. having 7-indicator holes and a fixed floorplate marked "MIL./ COLT/ 38 CAL". MAGS: 1 8-rd. CONDITION: VG original blue, approx. 95% with sharp edge wear and slide thinning as consistent with a holstered pistol that has seen light to moderate use. Comparable condition case hardening on hammer and lanyard ring. Original grips with slightly blunted checkering, no cracks. Near excellent mag. Near mirror bore with sharp rifling.
