Samples of trader orders contain requests for swords for the Indians and a prime source was surplus British swords from the Napoleonic wars. This is one. The handle is wrapped in leather with dangling beads and other Indian decorations." Sword is marked on the spine, "P. KNECHT IN SOLINGEN". CONDITION: good to very good.
