A visually stunning Indian Khanjar measuring 14 1/4" overall with a 8 3/4" blade. The blade has a patterned finish that resembles Damascus steel with gold foliate highlights near the hilt. The iron hilt has numerous gold foliate highlights with a gold highlighted iron tiger head pommel. The iron sheath also shows very intricate gold foliate highlights. At the press of a button on the grip, the pommel folds back and reveals another in the interior that measures 9 1/8" long with a 6 1/4" blade. The blade of the hidden knife also has a Damascus-like finish and the iron hilt has similar gold foliate motifs with a rudimentary lion's head pommel. We are unsure as to the date of this knife but it is likely from the later half of the 20th century. CONDITION: the knife shows light wear overall with some internal oxidation to the grip and pommel. (02-23942/BF). $200-400.
