REPRODUCTION. Cal. 63. NSN. Bbl. 30 7/8". Two leaf folding rear sight. Brass blade front sight. Lockplate marked "TOWER" and "crown" V.R. This attractive gun was made in India to resemble the British Baker rifle. It was not made with a rifled bore. The barrel which is marked on the inside "INDIA" is retained with three wedges and carries a bayonet bar on the right side for the sword bayonet. Barrel and lock have a browned finish. Brass furniture including the patchbox and the triggerguard which forms a hand grip. Hardwood stock carries two ramrod pipes and has raised cheekpiece. Steel ramrod. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 22 3/4" bright single edge blade sword bayonet likely also of Indian mfg. Blade marked on top with OSBORN & GUNBY. Brass handle with "D" guard. Leather scabbard with brass tip and throat. All aspects of bayonet and scabbard are very good. Bayonet does not latch correctly on barrel bar. CONDITION: all aspects including smooth bore are very good to near excellent. (01-22343/RW). ANTIQUE. $700-900.
