SHARPS CARBINE. Cal. 50-70. S# 76304. 22" unaltered six land & groove barrel, Lawrence patent rear sight, breech block converted to center fire. Carbine is heavily pitted including the numerous iron tacks decorating stocks, tacked rawhide replaces barrel band. No markings discernible other than S# and Sharps' patent markings on lock. Carbine stock shows distinct saddle wear and whatever environment pitted the iron did not hurt the wood. CONDITION: good overall as heavily pitted exterior, breech is functional and action works fine, original Civil War 6 groove rifling is well discerned. (01-27821/JS). ANTIQUE. $2,000-3,000.
