Cal. 32. NSN. 52.5" overall, 36" octagonal barrel marked my maker "C. KELLER / EVANSVILLE, IND", striped maple stock, back action lock, double set triggers. Charles C. Keller (1824-1892) emigrated from Germany as a gunsmith, he is listed in the US census starting 1850 through 1880 as gunsmith in Evansville, IN. Earliest advertisements start in 1846 and apparently his son continued in the trade. CONDITION: good overall, old inset repair forward of lock and rear of bolster. Fully functional, set trigger needs adjustment, crisp rifled bore. PROVENANCE: Martin Lane Historic & Western Americana Lifetime Collection. (01-24590/JS). ANTIQUE. $500-700.
