REVOLVER. Cal. 32 RF. S# 2370. Moore's Patent Revolvers were mfg. in Brooklyn, NY, from 1861–1863. Estimated 8,000 revolvers were mfg., production ceased after Rollin White sued for patent infringement. 6" Octagon barrel with a cone front sight. Bottom of the barrel houses a detachable ejector rod that appears to be inscribed "C ROD #185 FOR OVIR AY --- FUIE." Seven-shot round cylinder. Silver-finished brass frame with scroll engraving. One-piece walnut grip. CONDITION: barrel has varnish applied over a gray patina appearance, with vice marks on the sides near the cyl. and scattered marks. The frame has a faint silver finish with scattered areas of black tarnish and some vice marks. Fair grip finish with worn areas, scratches, and marks. Good bore with strong rifling and areas of pitting. (01-24979/MD). ANTIQUE. $400-600.
