Cal. 455 Webley. S# 5528. Bbl. 6 1/2". Round blade front sight. Fixed rear sight. Matching numbers on frame, cyl., extractor, and bbl. British contract Triple Lock with Crown "V" proofs. Right side of the frame has faint markings that appear to read "CA P". The back strap has a faint officer inscription that appears to read "CAPTAIN W.M. HOYLE". Reblue finish with case-colored trigger & hammer. Unnumbered checkered hardwood grips with gold S&W medallions. Lanyard ring is present on the bottom of the grip frame. CONDITION: grips show scattered dings, handling, and checkering wear. Trigger & hammer retain strong traces of case colors, with overall fading to gray and some oxidation. Balance of metal retains 92% of a reblue, with some pitting on the grip frame and some areas of blued overpitting and light edge wear. Good bore, with some scattered light oxidation but strong rifling. PROVENANCE: from the lifelong collection of Robert "Mike" Bricker. (24-1137/MJC). CURIO. $1,000-2,000.
