REVOLVER. Cal. 38 Spl. S# 660043. Bbl. 4". Round blade front sight. Fixed rear sight. Matching numbers on frame, bbl., cyl., extractor, and right grip panel. Five-screw M&P 1905 4th change revolver. Right rear of the frame has an inscription that reads "To Jim From Pop March-1-1937". Backstrap has added the number "5183". Blued finish with case-colored trigger and hammer. Hammer and trigger also have S&W patent markings. Checkered walnut grips with silver S&W medallions. CONDITION: grips show some scattered light dings and handling marks. Trigger and hammer retain strong amounts of their case colors with scattered fading to gray and light oxidation. Balance of metal retains 75% original blue with fading to gray, most notably on the backstrap, scattered edge, operational, and handling wear. Action is a bit sluggish but functional when hand-cycled. Very good, bright bore with some light oxidation. (24-5614/MJC). CURIO. $400-600.
