RELOADING TOOLS. No.1: Winchester Model 1880 1st Variation loading tool. Tool is marked w/ patent date & 45-60 caliber only. Tool has the early type spoon handles & a provision for Berdan decapping. Tool is accompanied by a 4th Model Winchester bullet mold marked only w/ the caliber on the left handle. Mold appears to throw a flat point bullet in the 300 grain range. Tool & mold contained in shop-made wooden box w/ hinged lid. Box is marked on top w/ neat wooden inlay "JF". Box contains a fired 45-60 cartridge, a powder scoop marked "60", a powder measure, decapping pin & spare decapping chisel. CONDITION: loading tool & bullet mold retain a very large degree of their original factory blue finish w/ scattered spots of oxidation & wear. Mold cavity appears serviceable. Box has whopping wear & staining. / No.2: Marlin Model 1881 tool. Caliber 38 55. Tool is marked on top of sprue cutter "MARLIN FIREARMS CO. / NEW HAVEN CT. / PAT. OCT, 4 / 1881". Caliber marked on left handle. Serial number on inside of left handle "5778". Tool has integral bullet mold, Berdan decapper, seating chamber & provision for bullet sizing. CONDITION: tool has moderate wear w/ light oxidation, turning gray & patina. Sizing chamber appears serviceable. / No.3: Cast iron loading tool marked only w/ "45.70M" w/ integral bullet mold, Berdan decapper & primer seating provision. No provision for bullet seating or resizing. CONDITION: handles retain worn remnants of silver paint. Balance of tool is worn gray & patina. Bullet cavity appears serviceable. / No. 4: Newton Arms Company Straight Line loading tool. Blued steel tool is equipped w/ shell holder. Sizing die is not present. Shell holder will accept the belted magnum head size which fits slightly loose. CONDITION: tool retains 70% of its original worn blue finish w/ spots of oxidation & very light pitting. / No. 5: Savage Model 1904 loading tool. Marked on the side "MANUFACTURED BY THE / SAVAGE ARMS CO. / UTICA, NEW YORK, U.S.A.". No sizing chamber is present. Tool is not marked as to caliber. CONDITION: tool retains traces of original blue & case colors w/ moderate wear & light oxidation. / No.6: Brass "tong" tool. Marked "BOND MACHINE CO. / WILMINGTON, DEL. U.S.A.". Equipped w/ a removable & adjustable steel die. Die is unmarked, but appears to be for a bottlenecked case which would be approx. 25 caliber. Handles are equipped w/ a case neck reamer & primer seating arrangement. CONDITION: handles are worn, but retain a pleasing patina w/ small spots of oxidation. Steel die turning gray w/ small spots of light oxidation. / No.7: Brass "tong" tool. Marked "MODERN-BOND CO. / WILMINGTON, DEL. / U.S.A.". Handles are equipped w/ case neck reamer. Handles are fitted w/ a Lyman Ideal type priming tool marked "5" & an unmarked steel sizing die. CONDITION: handles are well-worn w/ handling marks & exhibit a slightly clean patina'd appearance. / No.8: Ideal loading tool. Caliber 25-20 S.S. Handle is marked "IDEAL MFG CO. / NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A.". Non-adjustable sizing chamber. Integral bullet mold for a flat point bullet. Handles include primer seating & bullet sizing functions. CONDITION: worn nickel-plated tool turning gray & patina w/ moderate oxidation. / No.9: Nickel-plated Ideal loading tool marked "32 W.SPL / 32 M.H.P.". Handle is marked "IDEAL MFG CO / NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A.". Adjustable sizing chamber appears to be for a different smaller cartridge. Integral bullet mold casts a flat point bullet. CONDITION: tool retains 60% worn flaking nickel. / No.10: UMC Iron bullet mold. Mold is marked on bottom "UMC CO / 32 LCF". Mold casts a light pointed bullet. CONDITION: mold retains 50% original black finish w/ wear. / No.11: US Military Cartridge Capping tool likely from a loading set. Adjustable seating punch. Tool is marked "U.S. / O.M.L.". Individual parts are numbered "46". Tool is worn, but appears serviceable. PROVENANCE: Estate of Russell Dickerman. (02-24456/RW). NON-GUN. $500-1,000.
