KNIVES. 1) Foster Brothers Butcher Knife. 11 1/4" scimitar-shaped bright blade. 16 3/4" overall. Blade has "FOSTER BROTHERS" marking on left side. Straight walnut grips retained by star shape fasteners. Left grip has very faint "FOSTER" marking. Knife is contained in a leather scabbard which is marked on the back "CO? 1945 CA340". Belt loop is marked "13". Front of sheath has a partially detached unmarked oval brass tag. CONDITION: knife is well-worn. Blade has been sharpened. Blade shows scratches, grind marks & peppery oxidation. Scabbard is in good condition except for some detached stitching. 2) Theater Made Fighting Knife. 6 1/2" bright fullered blade. Appears to be from a Model 1917 bayonet. 11 1/8" overall. Knife is fashioned by regrinding & reshaping of a bayonet blade w/ no markings present. Handle is the base of a 1943 headstamped 20mm shell. Handle has a metal & composite crossguard. Knife shows coarse, but effective workmanship. Leather sheath w/ initials "MH". Retaining strap on front has two buckle fasteners. Belt loop is fashioned from a leather dress belt. CONDITION: knife has been sharpened, blade has turned gray w/ peppery oxidation. Handle is turning a pleasing patina. Scabbard w/ its unique appearance has wear, flexing & some loose stitching. 3) Fighting Knife. 9 1/4" scimitar-shaped blade. 14 1/4" overall. Cast aluminum crossguard in pommel have oriental characters. Stacked washer handle w/ grooves. Handmade leather scabbard stitched w/ copper wire. CONDITION: blade has moderate wear & scratches. Edge has small nicks. Aluminum turning gray w/ light oxidation. Leather handle has wear. Sheath is heavily worn, but stitching appears tight. 4) Fighting Knife. 7 3/8" bowie style blade. 12" overall. Cast aluminum handle w/ "D" knuckle guard. Knife is unmarked. Well-made dark brown leather sheath w/ tooled face. Part of the decorative tooling is eagle eating a snake, indicating knife is likely of Mexican origin. CONDITION: knife has wear, scratches & handling marks w/ area of light oxidation near crossguard. Sheath is in good condition w/ light wear. 5) Knife made from Non-Regulation Civil War Foot Officer's Sword. 8 1/4" fullered blade. Fuller extends through tip. 13 1/2" overall. Brass crossguard & pommel. Wire-wrapped brown leather grip. Knife is unmarked, except for "531" on back of crossguard. Brown leather sheath w/ tapered shape, basket weave tooling & logo on front. CONDITON: knife is worn, blade has peppery oxidation. Brass parts have been cleaned, but are returning to patina. Sheath in good serviceable condition w/ tight stitching. 6) Mexican "D" Guard Fighting Knife. 7 7/8" bowie style blade. 12 1/2" overall. Blade is marked on right ricasso "CERVANTES DAX / MEXICO". Spanish writing on right side of blade. Left side has harbor scene w/ church. Cast aluminum "D" guard handle w/ smooth composite grips. Tooled brown leather sheath w/ lion's head motif. Stitched w/ rawhide. CONDITION: knife has been cleaned. Aluminum has darkened appearance. Grip has extensive wear & gouges. Sheath has wear, stitching is tight. 7) Replica Fighting Knife. 10 3/8" bright bowie style blade. 14 1/2" overall. Brass "D" guard. Walnut grip. Blade is marked on left "STAINLESS STEEL". Marked on right "1941". Knife is likely Middle-Eastern origin. Brown leather sheath. Stitched & riveted construction. CONDITION: knife shows light wear & scattered handling marks, except for several spots of light pitting on left side of blade. Lightly worn sheath is in good serviceable condition. 8) Fighting Knife made from Argentine 1891 Bayonet. 15 5/8" bright plated fullered blade. 21 1/8" overall. Blade is marked on left ricasso "WYERSBERG KIRSCHBAUM & CO SOLINGEN". Right ricasso has "MODELO ARGENTINO 1891 / serial number". Blade has been given new handle w/ brass "D" guard & smooth hardwood grip retained by two rivets. "D" guard is studded w/ 6 conical points which extend approx. 5/8" beyond guard. Brown leather sheath appears to be shop-made w/ stitched & riveted construction, likely constructed from leather belt. CONDITION: knife is in very good condition w/ light wear & scattered areas of verdigris on brass parts. Scabbard has utilitarian appearance, but is serviceable. 9) Olsen Knife Company 4800 Knife. 4 5/8" fullered blade. 9 3/8" overall. Left ricasso is marked "OLSEN KNIFE COMPANY / SOLINGEN GERMANY". Right ricasso marked "4,800 / 4 3/4 inch". Brass crossguard & pommel. Smooth walnut grip. Brown leather sheath. CONDITION: knife has grind marks. Shallow pitting from cleaned oxidation. Brass parts turning patina. Grip has wear & handling marks. Sheath has moderate wear, but remains serviceable.10) Tourist Knife. 5 3/4" bright blade. 9 1/2" overall. Knife is likely far east origin. Brass crossguard & hardwood handle. Solid hardwood scabbard w/ brass tip & brass retaining latch. CONDITION: knife & scabbard in good condition w/ moderate wear as well as handling marks. 11) German Hunting Knife. 4" bright blade. 8 3/4" overall. Blade is marked on right side w/ the "caveman logo / "FRIODUR / J.R. HENCKELS". Stag grips secured by rivets. Knife is in a replacement steel scabbard w/ deteriorating web belt loop. CONDITION: knife is in good condition w/ light overall wear. Scabbard is in fair, but serviceable condition. 12) Damascus Skinning Knife. 5" damascus blade w/ very deep bellied cutting edge. 9" overall. Knife is unmarked. Heavy construction w/ Micarta grips. Tooled stitched leather sheath. CONDITION: knife is in good condition w/ light wear. Area of discoloration on both sides of blade at cutting edge. Good serviceable sheath w/ tight stitching.
