BARCELONA 12 BORE TWO BARREL SET GAME GUN OF VERY HIGH QUALITY. S# 35786. Bbls: Set 1: 27 7/8" w/ 2 3/4" chambers. Matted top rib & brass front bead w/ makers name & address on top of tubes. SN & proof marks on blued bbl. flats. Set 2: 30" long w/ 2 1/2" chamber constructed by Lebeau Courally w/ makers name on top rib & Eduardo Schilling info on tops of bbls. Single splinter forend is checkered in point pattern w/ diamond at center & has Anson type push button release & blued & engraved iron. Side plated action is near full coverage scroll & game scene engraved w/ setter on left & right plates towards rear & sm. flushing cocker in marsh scene on bottom all surrounded by nicely executed scroll engraving. Beaded bolsters w/ side clips are fully scroll engraved as is blued top lever & top tang w/ gold inlaid "S" in front of safety. Gun has dbl. locking underlug & Greener crossbolt. Water table w/ proof marks & very sm. import mark. Gun made w/ dbl. triggers, auto ejectors & auto safety. Straight grip buttstock is checkered in 2 point pattern through the wrist has unengraved long trigger guard tang & 1/4" wood spacer at butt & terminates w/ a "Irupe" brand ventilated White Line pad. Weight w/ bbl. set 1: 7 lbs., 2 oz. Measurements: Set 1: Right: .719" w/ .030" choke. Left: .718" w/ .039" choke. Minimum wall thickness: Left: .038:, right: .030". Set 2: Right: .736" w/ .024" choke. Left: .735" w/ .033" choke. Minimum wall thickness: Left: .015", right: .019". LOP: 14 7/8" w/ 1/4" wood extension. DAC: 1 7/16". DAH: 2 1/8". CONDITION: excellent. Original bbl. set retains nearly all of a professionally restored finish as does bbl. set no. 2. Bbl. set no. 2 w/ sm. push impression on right bbl. near forend which could easily be removed & some beginning exterior pits towards muzzle. Bbl. set no. 1 has bright & shiny bores. Bbl. set 2 w/ beginning orange peel in bores. Stocks are mostly sound w/ a beginning grain separation behind the top tang which is barely noticeable & tiny minor losses on bottom stock fingers & on left side of forearm where it meets the wood. Stocks retain most of an older professionally restored finish w/ subsequent minor handling marks. Mechanics in need of minor attention as hammers will not drop w/ safety disengaged. Action is nice & tight & on face. Engraving is crisp. Action appears to have been originally coin finished & shows only minor staining. Engraving is still crisp & clear. (22-1143/JSL).
