PERCUSSION MUSKET WITH BAYONET. Cal. 577. S# 7862 (in wood). The 36" barrel is secured with three clamped on bands and is fitted with ladder rear sight. Case hardened tilting block action has monkey tail type latch and is marked "ROBERTS PAT." "JUNE 11 1867" on left. "1863" dated Tower lock has royal crown on tail. Walnut stock is brass mounted. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: socket bayonet with 17" triangular blade stamped "SALTER". CONDITION: fine to very fine "as converted". Barrel retaining about 80% blue. Action with most of its case hardening color. Lock and hammer show color over considerable pitting. Stock is good with most of its original finish. Bore is bright with some scattered pitting. Mechanically good. Bayonet shows cleaning and is mostly brown. PROVENANCE: From the Raymond Darida Estate. (01-22241/MGM). ANTIQUE. $800-1,200.
