SLIDE-ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 30-30. S# 1695. Unusual repeating rifle, estimated quantity of under 12,000 mfg. 1912-1914. Top ejection action is fed by a fixed box mag. Ornate brass slide handle sleeve features deep relief woodland scenes w/ moose on right & wolf on left. Straight grip walnut stock has a large oval German silver presentation plate on right side marked "Presented to / John A. Gardener / BY / The Steelton Club / 1910". LOP: 13" over an ornate brass buttplate. Bbl. 25" round. Ramp mounted Lyman bead front sight w/ elevator adj. sporting rear sight. Added sling swivels, front swivel is bbl. band mounted. CONDITION: 70% lightly faded blue showing carry wear w/ scattered spots of corrosion & light pitting. Stock has lightly worn finish showing numerous scratches, dents & marks. Bore is generally bright w/ lightly worn rifling. (25-565/DS). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
