REVOLVER. Cal. 10.35mm. S# T231. Bbl. 6 3/8". Model 1874 double action revolver mfg. in Brescia, Italy, by Glisenti. Left side of the frame is marked "GLISENTI/ (SHIELD)/ BRESCIA," with the S# and Italian proofs marked on the right. Front of frame is stamped "LYON" beneath the cyl. base pin. Metal components have been cleaned and are in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Blade front sight, with U-notch rear sight. Most numbers are matching via the assembly # "1022" and include the frame, sideplate, trigger, cyl., as well as the bbl. Hammer appears to be an arsenal error and is numbered "3209," and the cyl. base pin appears to match, but assembly # is mostly illegible. Grips are mismatched. CONDITION: metal components retain a mostly bright exterior, exhibiting scattered areas with varying degrees of pitting as well as spots of darker age-related discoloration. Very bright bore, exhibiting light to mild pitting while retaining well-defined rifling throughout. Grips show smoothing, as well as some scattered marks and minor impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. PROVENANCE: from the collection of a Tennessee gentleman. (01-25708/MLW). ANTIQUE. $150-250.
