DOUBLE ACTION REVOLVER. Cal. 10.35mm. S# AE7360. Bbl. 4 1/2". Model 1889 Bodeo double action revolver mfg. at the Brescia arsenal in 1918. Left side of the frame retains traces of its mfg. information above "1918", with the S# and various Italian proofs marked on the right. Metal components exhibit an arsenal reapplied blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Dovetailed blade front sight, with frame U-notch rear sight. Numbers appear to be matching via an assembly #, with the full assembly # "38121" marked on the frame (beneath the left grip panel), with the sideplate, bbl., cyl., cyl. base pin / ejector rod guide, loading gate, trigger, and hammer matching either via "681" or "21". CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their arsenal reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray and brown patinas, as well as scattered spots of light surface oxidation and pitting overall. Very bright bore, exhibiting a spot of mild oxidation, and what appears to be a couple of spots of light pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Grips show smoothing and some scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (25-2369/MLW). CURIO. $300-500.
