PERCUSSION REVOLVER. Cal. 36. S# 1046. Bbl. 4 15/16". 1 of approx. 15,000 (total production between Pocket and Navy models) Second Model Navy double action revolvers mfg. by J.M. Cooper. Top flat of the octagonal bbl. is marked with a partially legible J.M. Cooper address (with Frankford, Philadelphia address). Brass trigger guard and rear grip strap with lightly sanded and refinished 1-piece plain wood grip. Flattened brass front sight with V-notch rear sight on hammer. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, cyl., bbl., and loading lever. CONDITION: metal components have faded to a gray patina, exhibiting consistent light to mild pitting overall. Brass trigger guard and rear grip strap exhibit a mellow patina. Dark bore, exhibiting moderate oxidation and pitting. Proper manual mechanics. Bbl. wedge screw head has broken in half, with the bbl. showing notable wobble. Grips show some superficial handling marks, but otherwise remain very good overall.
