OFF HAND SINGLE SHOT RIFLE. Cal. 40-65 Everlasting. S# 6027. Bbl. 30" round with Rigby flats. Spirit level front sight with midrange Vernier tang sight. Flat sided action features checkered trigger and finger loop lever. Engraving features scenes of elk on the left and a charging Buffalo on the right. Scenes are surrounded by fancy borders and wedges of vine type foliate scroll with punch dot backgrounds. Complementing engraving is found on upper receiver areas, Rigby flats and around the muzzle. Horn tipped Schnabel forearm has point pattern wraparound checkering. S curved pistol grip cheekpiece stock of fancy walnut has checkered wrist and nickel finished brass schuetzen buttplate. Weight, 9 lbs., 9.8 ozs. CONDITION: very good. Bbl. blue is thinning and fading to gray showing areas of very light corrosion. Action has faded to a light gray patina showing spots of corrosion. Original wood finish shows moderate wear with scattered scratches and marks. Horn insert in pistol grip shows small cracks. Brass buttplate retains a small amount of nickel finish. Bore remains bright with strong rifling. (01-21718/DS). ANTIQUE. $5,000-7,000.
