Cal.33-47 CF., using a .333 diameter bullet. S#. 2680. Bbl. 30 7/16" octagon round unmarked replacement style. Open dovetail for the front sight with a Stevens Wind Gauge Vernier tang sight having a No. 104 combination eye cup. No. 44 1/2 falling block action has a drop forged receiver for smokeless powder pressures. Features include: double set triggers, No. 6 Schuetzen Special lever with wood grip inserts and ripple pattern case colors. The Model 54 was Stevens highest grade featuring scroll engraving with game scenes having a bear on the right & a bull elk on the left. Perch belly cheekpiece stock & schnable tip forearm of fancy black walnut w/ elaborate hand checkering. Schuetzen style buttplate is case-colored. CONDITION: the receiver retains lightly visible case colors on protected top & bottom areas. Right side of receiver shows spots of light pitting. The original wood finish shows light wear w/ scattered scratches & marks. The checkering shows some chipped diamonds. The action has a stiff operation when opened & closed. Properly functioning triggers. The replacement style barrel is polished in the white retaining a near excellent bore with non-pope style rifling. (25-6628/DS). CURIO. $1,500-2,000.
