Cal. 50. NSN. Bbl. 34" oct. Beech style front sight that is missing its hood. Bbl. mounted u-notch rear sight. Upper tang mounted aperture rear sight. Bbl. appears unmarked. Lock marked "JAS GOLCHER/PHILADA" for James Golcher of Philadelphia. Golcher made locks that were sold to other gunsmiths for completion. Lock & hammer both have floral engraved patterns. Double set triggers. Nicely figured checkered maple half-length stock with left side cheekpiece, brass patchbox & furniture. Hardwood ramrod secured by brass nosecap & two iron pipes. CONDITION: stock has older added finish with a few scattered cracks mostly on left side near stock bolt, a few dings & handling marks. Brass parts are a dull yellow patina with some tarnishing & dings. Bbl. is a light gray color with some pitting mostly towards nipple, oxidation & light dings. Lock assembly is a dark gray color with some scattered oxidation. Action appears functional when hand cycled. Bore has scattered pitting & oxidation but good visible rifling. (01-26989/MJC).
